President John Mahama Appoints Edudzi Tameklo as Acting CEO of NPA

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tameklo as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).

The appointment, made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 48(1) of the National Petroleum Authority Act, 2005 (Act 691), takes immediate effect.

Edudzi Tameklo replaces Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, who has served as CEO since 2022 under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

A seasoned private legal practitioner and Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edudzi Tameklo has been at the forefront of several high-profile cases, including recent disputes over parliamentary seats.

His appointment reflects President Mahama’s commitment to strengthening leadership within the petroleum sector to ensure efficiency and transparency.
