The Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central Constituency in the Bono Region and the Former Minister of Health, Honorable Kwaku Agyemang Manu, has urged Ghanaians not to let the current economic challenges influence their vote against the NPP, which has the potential to implement measures for the nation’s progress. He emphasized that the NDC is not a viable alternative for Ghana’s development, despite the difficulties we are presently encountering.

During a one-on-one interview on GIFTs FM Morning Show, chaired by Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, the former Health Minister stated that former President Mahama and the NDC inherited a thriving economy from former President Kuffour. However, the mismanagement during the Mills-Mahama administration’s eight-year tenure led the country to seek assistance from the IMF, resulting in a higher debt profile and inflation rate.

He emphasized that the NDC is not a viable alternative to address the current challenges, asserting that the NDC has historically been poor managers of the nation’s economy.

Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu elucidated the interventions and policies instituted under the Akufo-Bawumia administration, which transformed the dire economic conditions inherited from John Mahama and the NDC into one of the world’s most robust economies. This remarkable progress was subsequently undermined by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, and other international challenges that impacted global economies, culminating in the present economic difficulties we encounter.

He underscored Akufo-Addo’s unwavering dedication to implementing policies aimed at transforming the nation’s social, economic, and infrastructural development, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. He stressed that the NPP are superior stewards of the economy, hence the president’s and the government’s relentless efforts to combat the current economic crisis.
