Francis Appiah Congratulates H.E Ahmed Yakubu, President-Elect of NAHSAG

Accra, Ghana — In a significant show of solidarity and mentorship, Mr. Francis Appiah, Chairman of the Vetting Committee of the National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG), has officially extended heartfelt congratulations to H.E Ahmed Yakubu, the newly elected President of NAHSAG.

Mr. Appiah, who is also a former National President of the Physician Assistant Students Association of Ghana (PASAG) and served as Vice President of NAHSAG in 2018, commended the transparent electoral process and described Yakubu’s victory as “a triumph for student democracy and purposeful leadership.”

“This is a proud moment for the entire health student community,” Mr. Appiah noted. “H.E Ahmed Yakubu has proven himself a capable and visionary leader. His victory reflects the trust that students across Ghana have placed in his ideas and energy. I am confident that his administration will take NAHSAG to new heights.”

As Chairman of the Vetting Committee, Mr. Appiah played a crucial role in maintaining the credibility and fairness of the electoral process, which many stakeholders have lauded for its transparency and integrity.

Reflecting on his own years of service, Mr. Appiah emphasized the need for continuity and mentorship within the association. He pledged his full support to the new administration:

“Having once walked the path of student leadership myself, I understand the weight and opportunity this moment brings. I am committed to supporting President-elect Yakubu and his team in any way I can to ensure they succeed in serving the health students of Ghana.”

He further urged all stakeholders—candidates, students, and alumni alike—to unite behind the new leadership.

“Let us remember that leadership transitions should bring unity, not division. We must all play our part in building a stronger and more influential NAHSAG.”

The President-elect, H.E Ahmed Yakubu, is set to officially take office during the handing-over ceremony later this month, ushering in a new chapter for the association.
