In a breathtaking display of Ashanti grandeur, the serene town of Atwea, nestled deep within the Sekyere Central District and proudly forming part of the historic Nsuta Traditional Area, awakened to a day that will be etched forever in its history Monday, 4th August 2025.

From the break of dawn, the air was alive with anticipation. The gentle morning breeze carried with it the distant echo of drums, weaving through the narrow paths and over the rolling hills, summoning the people to the palace grounds. By midday, Atwea had transformed into a sea of radiant kente, gold ornaments, and beaming faces a community gathered to honor one of their own.

The man at the heart of this historic day was Mr. Eric Nyameke, a respected son of the soil and Deputy Director of Administration at the Kintampo College of Health. Known for his calm leadership and dedication to service, he stood before chiefs, elders, and townsfolk, not merely as an accomplished professional, but as a man ready to bear the sacred weight of tradition.

Clad in resplendent kente each thread telling a story of courage and heritage and accompanied by the deep, commanding rhythms of fontomfrom and the graceful sway of adowa drums, he took the sacred oaths of office. In that solemn moment, the name Eric Nyameke was adorned with royal honor, as he assumed his revered stool name: Nana Kwaku Boateng.

The elders spoke in voices heavy with wisdom, blessing the new chief and charging him to lead with humility, justice, and vision. They recalled his unwavering commitment to the progress of Atwea, and the hope he represented for the younger generation.

As the sun dipped low, casting golden light over the hills, the town erupted in celebration. Drums thundered, dancers moved with unmatched grace, and songs of praise rose into the evening sky. The day’s joy was more than ceremony it was a powerful testament to unity, heritage, and the enduring spirit of the Ashanti people.

Long live Atwea. Long live Nsuta. Long live Nana Kwaku Boateng a new guardian of tradition and a beacon for generations to come.
