E/R: AKYEM BOSOME: QUEEN MOTHER, CHIEFS CALL FOR SECURITY BEEF UP AMIDST ELECTIONS

The queen mother of Akyem Bosome traditional area in the Eastern Region, Nana Kwatemaa Menkyem II, and her chiefs have called on the police Inspector General (IGP) to intensify security in Akyem Swedru amidst December 7 polls due to chieftaincy brouhaha which could likely generate to an unpleasant story in the community.

In an address to the press during a presser held at Akyem Swedru in the Birim South district, the queen mother of Akyem Bosome traditional area, Nana Kwatemaa Menkyem II stated that there’s no peace in the traditional area for past 15years due to the “destoolment” of their paramount chief and per his unlawful behavior for quite some time could cause mayhem.

She sighted some instances she alleged their “destooled paramount chief” has brought some hoodlums into Akyem Swedru community to terrorised youth and some chiefs who do not side with him hence they wouldn’t sit and watch him again this time especially when Ghana is going into polls.

She has therefore called on IGP and his men to intensify security in Akyem Swedru community to prevent any clash between the two fashions in the traditional area amidst December 7 polls.
