Asene Manso Akroso DCE donates to Akyem Asuboa Presby School and Akroso Health Centre

The District Chief Executive for Asene Manso Akroso in the Eastern Region, Hon. Erick Ahinakwa, has donated educational and health items to Akyem Asuboa Presbyterian Primary School and Akroso Health Centre. The donation is part of his efforts to support the development of his district.
The items donated include exercise books, pens, pencils, Kivo Gari Mix, soft drinks, surgical scissors, co-sheet, bed sheet, and street bulbs, among others.
Ahinakwa disclosed that he will put measures in place to improve the Akroso Health Centre, which serves about 100 people daily and nearby communities.

Receiving the items, Nana Asor Boateng, District Health Director, expressed gratitude to Ahinakwa for the donation.
She, however, highlighted the health centre’s needs, including an Outpatient Department (OPD), nurses’ quarters, beds, security, emergency ward, and physician assistant office, which are currently lacking.
“The health centre is in dire need of these facilities to enable us provide quality healthcare services to the people,” she said. She appealed to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and the government to come to their aid.

The Headteacher of Akyem Asuboa Presbyterian Primary School, also thanked Ahinakwa for the donation, describing it as a wonderful gesture.
He, however, appealed to the DCE to help address some of the school’s challenges, including the lack of an ICT lab, classrooms, and a library.
